I just love this set and have been wanting to have a play for some time and after seeing Sarah's gorgeous card gave me the inspiration. Sarah has created the shaker with a cellophane bag as another option to get better results. I didn't have any on hand and just created it using the window acetate/sheet and fun foam. Will try the cellophane option next time as it sounds good - would take less time and less bulky too hehe.
Here is my card as inspired by Sarah. I used a square window using the layering squares framelits to change it up. The colours are Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. These colours have been inspired by a movie poster - 'Breakfast on Pluto' pictured below. Not only was I inspired by the movie poster colours and imagery but also the theme in this movie relates with the sentiment, "We'll weather this together" for an encouragement card.
Inside the shaker window, the raindrops background have been white heat embossed on the tempting turquoise base card stock. As part of the shaker mix, there are raindrop die cuts in daffodil delight, tempting turquoise and white sequins as well as the new clear mica flakes that are from the new holiday catalogue. It makes the best filler for the shaker cards, as it helps to move the sequins about and resembles rain/water and leaves a residue.
Inside the card I recreated the window shaker scene and modified it to have it all on one layer.
The square frame is the same size as the front and have used the off cut as a template and masked it using Post it notes. I also masked off the umbrella section by using a die cut Post it note, as I wanted to keep this area ink free and dry to compliment the sentiment.
The raindrops have been stamped in tempting turquoise and ink blended the background in the same colour with soft sky ink undertones. I have also Ink blended melon mambo ink on the umbrella for shading and by adding the same ink over the top of the same colour card stock intensifies the colour and helps add depth.
I hope you have enjoyed this card project inspiration. The Weather Together bundle is such a great set and comes complete with the coordinating framelits which makes it fun and a breeze to use. The sentiments are wonderful too. By purchasing it together you save 10% and well worth it.
