Work of Art Friendship - Painter's Palette with little Furball.

Hello fellow crafters! For today's Crazy Crafters team project highlights, I thought I would showcase the new Painter's Palette set and Playful Palette designer series paper, along with the Layering Squares framelit dies which perfectly coordinate with this set. It's a fun and colorful set especially the designer series paper and features all the new 2016-2018 In Colors as well.

I have chosen to use the fabulous sentiment, "Our friendship is a work of art", and made a shaker window using the layering squares framelits dies by die cutting the stamped frame from the set.
For the rest, I have used a piece of the Playful palette dsp on the back and have chosen a darker design so that the sentiment can be seen. The sentiment has been stamped on a window sheet using white Stazon ink. Fun foam has been used to create the shaker window walls by nesting the layering squares framelits dies. The sequins used, was some gold stars I had for awhile and wanted to use that, but any sequins or even glitter or confetti off cuts could be used.

The photo below is how the window shaker frame looks from the side angle view. The other smaller frames have been created using the new Layering Squares framelit dies. It also has the wonderful scallop border edge squares which is adds a cute detail. I decided to include my favourite cat image from You Little Furball as I love cats and have have used the leopard print from Going Wild dsp. It adds a retro Pop art feel to the card which is appropriate for this art exhibition look.

As you can see the front panel has been trimmed to show another piece of the Playful Palette dsp and I have used a scallop border just to define the edge separation and add interest. This is a great way to showcase the dsp or show some contrast to a layout and I have done the same on the inside of the card and used the reverse side of the dsp that was left over. The front panel has been mounted on fun foam for an even raise and just give the card dimension with the layers. The main card stock used is the lovely sweet sugarplum which is the same colour as the front dsp.

I hope you enjoyed my card project for today and this set will be available soon on June 1st. It's a fun and playful set and adds a splash of colour to any project.

Please head on over to Kylie's Crazy Crafters team project highlights for more inspirations. You can also vote for your top three favourite cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Swirly Bear Hugs - Global Design Project 37 - Color Challenge

Hello and welcome back! I'm so totally inspired yet again from this week's Global Design Project #37 Color Challenge, that I have made another card. :) I just couldn't stop playing with the new Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies and have teamed it up with Bear Hugs set to create a theme using the colour challenge and complimenting the sentiment.

This is a top folding A2 card with many layers to show the colour combination from the challenge and the front panel has a window sheet to create an added interest with the layers. The Swirly Scribbles wavy die cut helped created the layers in a tiered format, repetitively following the shape of the waves almost like a template and incorporating the negative space in the layout. The window sheet helped create a window effect to reveal the wavy lines die cut inside once again.

I have taken the wavy lines from Swirly Scribbles in Island Indigo cardstock to become the waves of a lake or river and this became the place for the die cut fishes from the Bear Hugs to swim in. The Bear and fishes have been stamped in Tip Top Taupe ink and die cut using the coordinating dies from the Bear Hugs bundle. I have added Island Indigo to the fishes using an aqua painter for a subtle watercolor wash. I have then added clear wink of Stella on the fishes for shimmer. I have used fun foam to mount the bear and this gives a nice finish as you can see the even raised white padding underneath blending in with the base cardstock. Behind the bear I have die cut the swirl from Swirly Scribbles dies in Sahara Sand as a neutral colour.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Island Indigo cardstock and I have used the banner from Number of Years thinlits dies to die cut the banner shape and have been mounted using Stampin' dimensionals. Inside of the card reveals the wavy die cut with the fishes. I have also used another die cut of the wavy lines to cover up the back panel of the card to give it a nice finish. I hope you have enjoyed my second card inspiration using the color challenge. The Bear bundle is such a cute set and teaming it with Swirly Scribbles adds more fun and allows you to add a creative dimension to the set. The Bear bundle is only available as a bundle till the end of this month, so be sure to get it before the special offer ends to get a 15% saving. From June 1st it's only available separately. The Swirly Scribbles is part of the Swirly Bird bundle and is available on June 1st and save 10% saving when purchased together.

Please head on over to Global Design Project for more creative inspirations using these colours.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Picture Perfect Swirl - GDP37 Color Challenge

Hello! So excited to play once again over at Global Design Project and so thrilled to have been chosen as one of the top three winners in last week's challenge - Case the Designer Paula Dobson. It's such an honor to have been chosen especially Case'ing Paula's fabulous card. Click here to see the post. :)

This week's Global Design Project is an exciting color challenge and I have played with a few sets to incorporate the three colours above. The card I have made uses two sets: Picture Perfect and the new Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies. I just love the hummingbird in Picture Perfect and it's my first time to use it. The hummingbird and the colors in the challenge worked perfectly together as it's a three step stamping and each colour was used to build the image. The sentiment has been stamped in Tip Top Taupe and is from the set as well.

I have used the Swirly Bird thinlits die as a decorative design feature on the card and to showcase this new thinlits die from the new catalogue. This set is part of a Swirly bird bundle and will be available on June 1, 2016. I just love the organic shapes in this set and has so many uses and this wavy design works well to incorporate the color challenge. I have used Island Indigo and Mint Macaron cardstock for this. The whole front panel has been mounted on fun foam for an even raise. I decided to go with Island Indigo for the base card as this really ties in the whole color palette and picks up on the Island Indigo die cut wavy line from Swirly scribbles. The wavy lines have been repeated on the inside of the card however it's arranged differently color wise for a subtle change and to show that the set looks great however way you arrange them. :)

This card has been kept rather simple and a clear wink of Stella on the hummingbird for some sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed my card project and have been inspired to try out these color combination. For more inspiration check out the creative entries over at Global Design Project. Hopefully you can join in the fun too. :)

Expression - In Color Palette

Hello! This is a simple card to showcase the new 2016-2018 In colors in a vibrant and expressive way. The initial inspiration came from this week's Global Design Project #36 - Case the Designer: Paula Dobson. I'm so excited to be Case'ing Paula's card below as she is so talented and highly creative. I have actually made two cards from my excitement. :)  Click here to see the other card. That card is more floral inspired. For more inspirations click on the header below to see the creative projects at the Global Design Project. :)

This was a quick and simple card using the Bold Butterfly framelit die and the new stamp set from the new catalogue Painter's Palette and the Thoughtful Banners punch. I have used the new 2016-2018 In Colors in a rainbow effect using the brush stroke and splatter images from Painter's Palette, in a symmetrical fashion reflecting the butterfly wings.

The banner is created using the coordinating banner punch from the Thoughtful banners bundle, and I have white heat embossed part of the sentiment to just have "Expression". The butterfly die cut and banner has been mounted on white fun foam for an even raise.

I hope you enjoyed this card project. The new In colors are just fabulous and so vibrant. These new products will be available in June. If you join Stampin' Up! now you can include this as part your starter kit.

Rose Wonder - Work of art

Hello. This is the second addition with the Rose Wonder cards inspired by What Will You Stamp Rose Wonder card challenge. I have also entered this card in this week's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. :)

Here are the extra two cards...  I have used the Rose Wonder set along with some new products from the new catalogue.

The one on the left with the Beautiful die cut letters has been watercoloured using the large rose image from the Rose wonder set. I have used the new in-colours, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum. I created a colourful backdrop to showcase the die cut letters. The square frame is from the new Layering Squares Framelit dies in the new catalgoue.

The other card on right is created using the smaller rose die cut from Rose Wonder bundle to create the background by overlapping the die cut roses.  I have combined that gorgoeus sentiment from the new set Painter's Palette 'Our friendship is a work of art". I have also used die cut the frame using the Layering Squares Framelits dies to give it that raised frame which has been mounted on fun foam.

I have used Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the roses and used Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Archival ink for the sentiment and frame.

I hope you like both cards as this set is so versatile and when you combine it with other sets can go a long way to compliment your projects. For more creative inspirations with the Rose Wonder set please check out the creative projects over at What Will You Stamp #64.

Hello You Are Amazing - Rose Wonder

Happy Friday! I thought I would share this card today in the Crazy Crafters team project highlights. I will also be entering them in What Will You Stamp and Global Design Project where the design inspiration came from. The Rose Wonder is such a great set and can be used in so many ways - love it's decorative qualities.

You can click here to see more creative projects and inspirations, and vote for your favourites.

Both cards feature the new in-colors Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Green. The colours are soft and muted as they have been watercoloured. The Roses has been white heat embossed and makes it easier to watercolour as it contains each colour. I have used watercolour paper for both cards.

The leaves on the circle flip card have been trimmed from the main rose die cut and I have used the emerald green cardstock. Inside the card I have also die cut the smaller flower in Flirty Flamingo card stock to offset the cluster of flowers with the sentiment.

The other card with "Hello You Are Amazing", has been inspired in this week's Global Design Project case the designer - Paula Dobson, it's such an honour! I have die cut the letters using the Little Letters thinlits dies and they have been mounted on to white fun foam for an even raise. It's such a great effect having the sentiment raised and die cut. "You Are Amzaing", sentiment is from the new Swirly Bird set and has been white heat embossed on basic black cardstock.

I hope you like both of my card projects. It shows another way that this wonderful set can be used and also giving a sneak peek of the new in-colors as well as the sentiment from the new Swirly Bird set.
