Happy Friday! I have had so much fun playing with the Fairy Celebration set and have made another card featuring two other sets including a new set from the new Holiday catalogue. Can you guess which one it is? It's the gorgeous trail of sparkly star shine coming from the fairy hehe. The set is called "Star of Light" and the star shine is just amazing and goes so well with this set. It has so many possible uses all year round not just for the holidays and perfect for this congrats card.
As a demonstrator you can order this set now and if you join, you can have this set as part of your starter kit and get discounts on future purchases. As a customer it's available on 1st September.

The star shine has been white heat embossed on both the card base as well as the front panel so there's a continuation. Both card base and front panel have been ink blended using Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Melon Mambo. The purple is the result from the blending of Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise. I have used Pool Party cardstock and have ink blended that with Pool Party as well as Bermuda Bay to make the stars shine even more. The shadow box in the background is from a previous project and have continued with the Pool Party colour scheme. You can view that project here. :)
The other set I have used is the Banner For You bundle where the sentiment and banners are taken from. I just love how the banner wraps around the frame and image. I have white heat embossed this on vellum so that the background can still show through. The die cut frame has been created using the Lot of Labels framelits set. To add dimension to the flower sticking out, I re-stamped and coloured as well as fussy cut out another and placed it on top.
The Fairies have been watercoloured using an aqua painter. The little flying fairy wings coordinate with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and have used that to cut out the wings, to give dimension and that has been gold heat embossed on vellum. She has been fussy cut out and mounted with Stampin' dimensional to give a 3D appearance.
I have used Clear Wink of Stella glitter to add shimmer to the fairies as well as glossy accents to the mushroom and flowers for extra interest and dimension.
Inside the card features the gorgeous Star of Light star shine in the same ink resist blending combination from the front. Both the fairy and sentiment/banner have been gold heat embossed.
"You Amaze Me", sentiment is just so appropriate for this theme and is from the Banner For You set.
I have also entered this card in both the Global Design Project #48: Case the Designer - Tanja Kolar and the Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. The soft airy colours and layout of Tanja's gorgeous card have been an inspiration to creating my card and suited the 'Fairy Celebration theme'. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Paula. Just love these sets together. :)
DeleteGreat idea Juana-combining the star burst with the fairy set is brilliant. Did you use aqua painters for the ink blend technique?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lisa. No, I have used a round mini ink blending tool from Ranger. It gives the best results. You can also use sponge daubers or Stampin' sponges depending on the look you want. Watercolour background of these colours would look great too. :)
DeleteWow! You take my breath away with your skill and creativity!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Stephanie. I truly appreciate your lovely compliments. :) x

DeleteI'm a new demonstrator with SU! I'm setting here with my mouth open, amazed at the beauty of your card. I knew there would be something to use these stars for! As I said, I'm new. Can you tell me how to do the background that you did on your card? As I said I'm amazed at the beauties of your card.
ReplyDeleteThank YOU so much for sharing! We are truly bless by your creativity.
Thank you so much Gloria for your lovely compliments. That's awesome that you're a new demonstrator - Congrats! I have used a round mini ink blending tool from Ranger. Use a circular motion and gradually blend starting off light. I find this tool gives seamless blending without leaving streak marks and the results are amazing. :)
DeleteBeautiful as always :) I adore this set, you have brought these fairies to life
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sue. The Star of Light set makes it magical. :)
