Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Wendy Cranford

Hello and welcome to another Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. What a busy month but so much fun creating cards hehe. You may have just come from the previous person or you may be starting here at my blog Juana Ambida. If you lose your way and get off track, there is a full list of this hops participants at the bottom of this post. I hope as you hop around you find lots of ideas and inspiration for your projects.

Our special guest for this hop is the highly creative and multi talented Wendy Cranford from the US! Her work is just amazing and love all of them. As part of the hop, we get to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) any cards/projects that has been created by Wendy Cranford

Please take a look at her blog for many wonderful ideas. She also has a fabulous YouTube channel with many great and helpful tutorials.

It was very hard to choose which card to CASE from Wendy, as they were all inspirational. However I couldn't resist the adorable card below - "Comic Strip Watercolor Kitty". I just love animal stamps especially cats and love how Wendy created this card as a comic strip.

To change it up, I have used a new set from the Holiday catalogue featuring the 'Merry Mice set and have a Christmas theme. It's such a cute and fun set and called for watercolouring. In place of the comic strip frames from Wendy's card, I have used the 'Merriest Wishes' bundle with the Merry Tags framelits and placed the mice inside the ornaments. Having them inside the ornaments complimented the sentiment; "It's time to deck the halls" from the Merry Mice set.  Here it is...

The Merry Mice fitted perfectly inside the ornaments and such a great way to incorporate them together with the Merriest Wishes sentiments. I have watercoloured in the Mice with an aqua painter on Whisper White cardstock. I also found inspiration from the holiday catalogue for colour examples of this set hehe. The ornaments and sentiment have been mounted on with foam dimensionals.

The base card is Crumb cake and complimented the colour of the Mice as well as the Kraft handmade look. I have used the new Candy Cane Lane Baker's twine from the holiday catalogue to attach each ornament so it looks authentic and it's just perfect! The foliage/leaves in the back has been white heat embossed using the Christmas Pines set - another favourite of mine from the Holiday catalogue. It just suited the theme of decorating the tree.

I have used Clear wink of Stella glitter over the mice and added glossy accents to each of the objects they are carrying to give extra dimension.

Inside the card, The mice trio have been stamped as they appear in the set as a group and have stamped the sentiment twice so that it appears on one line.

I have also used the other images from the Merriest Wishes set and have die cut the ornaments and circle using the coordinating Merry Tags framelits. These have been mounted on Stampin' dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed the card and found inspiration. Props to Wendy Cranford for the great inspiration. Both sets are just amazing and by combining them adds so much creativity to the card. The sets are available on 1st September for customers to order.

Make sure you continue to hop all the way around and see all the amazing inspiration from the Crazy Crafters team. You are going to love what our team have come up with using Wendy's cards. Currently you are at my blog - Juana Ambida - so check the list to see who is up next. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Happy Crafting! :)

Frosted Medallions Best Wishes - International Blog Highlight

Hello and Happy Friday! It's an International blog highlight for tonight's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights with many talented demos from all around the world showcasing cards with the theme of Encouragement and RAK (Randon Act of Kindess). Be sure to check out all the creative projects and you can vote for you favourites. Please click on the banner to take you there.

I have made an encouragement card using the Frosted Medallions set from the new Holiday catalogue. It's a great set with the gorgeous medallions and doily pattern that can be used throughout the year. The sentiments in the set, "The Best is yet to come" and "Wishing You the Happiest of Days" is just appropriate for this theme. This set is also perfect for Happy New Year's with a wonderful heartfelt sentiment.

The colours have been inspired by the Fancy Frost sequins from the new holiday catalogue and I have used Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise. These colours just work well together with complimentary tonal values. You can see the Fancy Frost sequins randomly scattered.

I have white heat embossed the medallions and doily pattern to add depth as well as resisting the ink.  I have used the mini round ink blending applicator from Ranger as it gives the best finish.

I have also ink blended the diagonal strip on the side using the Season Decorative mask from the new holiday catalogue in the same inks. It's perfect to use to add that coordinating accent to your cards as well as creating your own custom made backgrounds. To make the two panels blend, I have tied a bow using Bermuda Bay Baker's twine and helps soften the edge.

To give another element to the medallions, I have die cut a star from Starlight thinlits also from the new holiday catalogue and added a silver metallic dot in the centre for extra bling.

Inside the card I have used another strip of the diagonal pattern from the Seasonal Decorative mask to tie in with the front.  The medallions/doily have been stamped in Pool Party and Elegant Eggplant and kept it simple for contrast. I have also added another Startlight die cut in vellum and compliments the sentiment - "Wishing you happiest of days", to help bring some positive light to the card recipient.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and found inspiration. This set is available to order 1st September and not only does it make a wonderful encouragement card but also perfect to usher in the New Year to make cards for friends and family. There are so many goodies in the new holiday catalogue that would be great to use with this set as well - creativity is endless.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Holly Berry Happiness - Christmas Wishes

Hello and welcome back. Here's another sneak peek of one of the new sets from the Holiday catalogue - "Holly Berry Happiness" set. It's a wonderful set and is available as a bundle with a coordinating Holly Berry punch that you can create holly, berry and bows, makes a great accent feature. I especially love the sentiments and is great to send to family and friends near and far for the festive season.

Holly Berry Happiness stamp set + Holly Berry Builder Punch - Photopolymer - 143505
(Bundle and save 10%)

The first two cards above have been inspired by this week's Global Design Project #50 Sketch Challenge by the talented Teneale Williams. I just love the sketch challenge as it really helps gets you started with creating.

For more inspirations, please check out the creative card designs by the talented design team and hopefully the sketch challenge will help you get started and join in the fun.

Here are the cards:

The holly leaves and branches from the set were a main feature in these cards and added such a great leaf pattern and borders. This is a two step stamp set and being photopolymer makes for easier placement.

Christmas Wishes from across the miles...

• The tartan patterned paper on the front is from Warmth and Cheer designer series paper stack.
• Die cut nested frames for the sentiment is from Tags and Labels framelits dies.
• Gold Foil Sheets just adds a nice finish.
• Cherry Cobbler baker's twine.
• The holly and berries have been stamped and punched out using the coordinating Holly Berry builder punch. I have added Wink of Stella clear glitter and glossy accents over the top to give a lacquered finish.

Best wishes for the season.

The holly leaves and berries have been used as a custom made patterned background with a few cut out using the coordinating builder punch and raised with dimensionals. Clear wink of Stella clear glitter and glossy accents added to make them pop and on the bows too.

• Gold thread from the Holiday catalogue was used.

• The sentiment has been stamped on with White Stazon ink.

• The wreath inside the card has been created by stamping the holly branch four times (four quarters).

• The sentiment has been stamped on vellum and have tucked the edges under the panel to hide the adhesives.

This card was made to feature the gorgeous wreath that can be created with this set. This was my first attempt to create it and did not go as planned on the panel - wasn't exactly centred. So to salvage it, I have fussy cut it out and placed it over the sentiment with foam dimensionals and looks so much better. Glossy accents have been added to give it further dimension.

The rest of the card, I have used the filled in holly branch image and did a multi stamping to create the leaf pattern.

Inks used are Garden Green, coordinates with the base card, Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron.

Inside the card, I went all the way with the multi stamping of the wreath and radiates outwards around the sentiment. I have used the outline version of the holly branch and used the filled in version around the edges to coordinate with the Garden Green cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and found inspiration. Having a sketch challenge to go by really helped kickstart the design of the cards. This set will be available to order 1st September and is worth getting as it has so many creative possibilities and would look great coordinated with other sets.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Flower Power - Inspired by Global Design Project #49 Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome back. I have been playing with a few sets using a floral theme that have all been inspired by the Global Design Project #49 Colour Challenge. I just didn't seem quite finished yet with the colour palette and thought this would be a great way to show these wonderful colours in these different floral combination cards. I also wanted to show how great the sentiments from Thoughtful Branches look combined with these sets.
Please be sure to check out the Global Design Project #49 Colour Challenge for more creative inspirations and hopefully you'll join in the fun. Here are the colours...

Thank You card using Birthday Blooms set - Reversed white heat embossed ink shading.

I have been inspired by the Global Design Team member's floral cards and I have done a soft feminine touch with this card. The floral image has been white heat embossed and I have filled in all the negative space with a Versamark pen and white heat embossed that too. You can just see the shine and thick surface from the photo where I have white heat embossed it. It looks almost like it has been painted it on with white paint. This allowed me to colour in the flowers using an ink blending tool and at the same time the white heat embossed areas resisted the ink acting like a mask.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches and it has been stamped on vellum with black Stazon ink. I have then wrapped around white baker's twine and did a three looped ribbon.

You're in my thoughts using Thoughtful  Branches set - Watercolour

The Thoughtful Branches is such a great and versatile set and here I have die cut the lovely hydrangea flower/bloom using watercolour paper and have watercoloured them in using the Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo. There is a gradation with the colours and also an ombre effect with the pink and yellow giving a gorgeous sunset effect. The three blooms have been layered and front two have been mounted on with dimensionals. The leaves have also been die cut using watercolour paper and have been watercoloured in with Pear Pizzazz. I have gone in an ink blended the same colour over it to give some depth in colour. The ink splatters is from the Gorgeous Grunge set and gives a controlled ink splattering.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed and I have done an ink wash using a flat medium brush in Daffodil Delight. I had added some random enamel dots in the coordinating colours to give the layout balance.

Swirly Bird & Flourish die cuts flowers with sentiment from Thoughtful Branches.

I have Cased this from a card I saw on Pinterest by 'Lin' and just love the swirly flowers that she created on her card. She has some absolutely gorgeous floral cards that are just so stunning.

The colours have been adapted to suit the colour challenge.

I have layered the Swirly Bird thinlits to create dimension and have inked shaded the middle swirly die cut in the coordinating inks. The smaller swirly flower has been stamped on in Flirty Flamingo. The leaves have been die cut from Flourish Thinlits and have also added ink shading for more gradation in Pear Pizzazz. The ink splatters are from Swirly Bird set and adds a interesting texture.

The polka dot pattern is from the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack - 141408 and it's in Flirty Flamingo.

The scalloped rectangle has been created using the new layering squares framelits and I have run it through the Big Shot twice by partially die cutting it so to that it's extended with a seamless join. This panel has been mounted on with dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards and found inspiration. The Thoughtful Branches set is only available till the end of the month and if you love it, order it now so you don't miss out. The sentiments from the set are such a stylish font, that will always looks great alone or with any other other sets. It is worth having in your collection.

Thanks you so much for  stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Floral Phrases Wedding Card in a Box

Hello and Happy Friday! Hope you all had a good week. I thought I would share this card in a box as it's made for an upcoming wedding - custom order. The colour theme is dusty pink and gold. I have used Blushing Bride for the inks and cardstock.

I have used several sets to create this card.

The main one is the 'Floral Phrases bundle, where I have used the coordinating 'Detailed Floral Thinlits', to die cut the flaps on this card. It's a perfect fit and have allowed an extra millimetre to leave a gap around the edges. The smaller panels have been partially die cut and took a little surgery to manually cut the ends hehe.'

I have used the images from the set for the border and sentiment as well as the main floral image, that you can see around the bottom edge and on the back of the card.

The L & S are the recipient's monogram and it has been die cut using the 'Large Numbers Framelits' using Gold Foil Sheets. These have been adhered on to window sheets.

The sentiment has also been stamped on the Gold Foil sheet and the banner has been die cut from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. The sentiment 'Forever Begins Today" is from 'Suite Sayings' and has been stamped on using black Stazon ink. The gold baker's twine trim is from the new Holiday catalogue.

The hearts is from the 'First Sight' set  and have used the coordinating Sweetheart Punch. These are both stuck on with window sheets to get the height and angle in the back.

The cute little flowers are from a retired bundle set, 'Petite Petals' and is perfect for this card, as it's quick and easy to stamp out the flowers and cut out with the coordinating punch. You could alternatively use another set that you may have on hand.

Card in a box folds flat and fits in an A2 or C6 size envelope.

I hope you have enjoyed this project and found inspiration. This card has been entered in tonight's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. Please be sure to check out all the creative projects for more inspirations. You can also vote for your favourites.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)
