Happy Snow Day! Spread Some Cheer - Memory Box and Poppystamps Card Challenge.

Hello and welcome. Today's card has been inspired and entered in both the Memory Box and Poppystamps 'Snow and Winter' theme card challenges. It's wonderful that they have the same theme as can use the same card for both challenges. Happy Snow Day! Spread some Cheer, is the sentiment and is a happy mix of both brands with the stamps and dies and was very happy on how the card turned out. By combining all the complimentary sets, I was able to create a custom made fun winter wonderland scene with both the Wintertime Fairies and Playful Elves as well as the scenery dies. Creating this card makes me wish the weather would cool down here in Australia as it's a heatwave! the extremes in weather.

Here are the banners for both the card challenges.

Fairies, Elves, Reindeer and Polar Bear oh my! Love them all, the snowman and the letter box just completes the scene.

The sets I have used are:

Memory Box: Playful Elves, Christmas Elves, Dashing with Reindeer stamp sets and Snowbanks Drift die.

Poppystamps: Wintertime Fairies stamp set and Simple Snowflakes dies.

All the images have been coloured in with Copic markers and stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Copic blending paper. They are a lot of fun to colour in and have been cut out with my Scan n cut machine and are just fabulous once they're all cut out. There are coordinating dies available for the all sets which is very handy to have as it makes scene building even easier and saves fussy cutting.

I have popped all the images on with foam dimensionals which makes them stand out and also makes the scene building so much easier to get them perfectly placed as you can easily move them around and less messier than using regular liquid glue.

The background has been ink blended using Ranger distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans to create an ombre shading with dark to lighter at the top with the added water droplets distress to create the subtle snow effect. The sentiments have been white heat embossed with the Happy Snow Day white heat embossed on vellum to make it stand out and acts as a banner that the fairies are holding.

The Snowbanks Drift die is just amazing and using that die alone with an ink blended background makes a lovely clean and simple yet finished and stunning card. But, you know me, I love details and anything colourful, so couldn't resist adding in the cute fairies and elves and they just add that extra magic to the card. The Simple Snowflakes dies are just the right size and compliment the Wintertime Fairies set and are similar in design to the snowflakes too. Using the dazzling diamond glimmer paper from Stampin' Up! adds that extra shine and sparkle and love this paper to use on snow and winter scenes.

I hope you enjoyed and found inspiration. It was so much fun creating this card and it's so great that both Memory Box and Poppystamps sets work so well together, it's an awesome creative union! Thank you so much for stopping by. until next time- Happy Crafting!

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Bloomin' Love

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. I'm so excited to be taking part in this blog hop with so many talented fellow stampers from around the world. The theme for this hop is Love and have combined the classic Bloomin' Love set with the new Magical Day bundle from the Occasions catalogue, they make such a fun and quirky love theme.

I just love all the images in the Magical Day bundle and have framed each one in their own scene within the hearts window using the Sweet & Sassy framelits. There is such a variety of techniques used to inlaid die cutting, ink blending, white heat embossing and embossing using embossing folders to bring out each character/s in their scene. The die cut love sentiment is from Sunshine Wishes dies and used on each card to tie them all altogether. I have die cut three pieces for each one to give it that thickness like a chipboard and makes it stand out so much better.

Here is a unique and cute Valentine's card with the dragon among the gorgeous blooms from the Bloomin' love set. Pinewood Plank dynamic embossing folder used on the front panel to give extra texture.

Love this wizard and he's conjuring a love spell lol, it's a retired chipboard embellishment, but any heart shape embellishment or die cut would look awesome. The Sweet & Sassy framelits have been utilised to nest within each other for a puzzle piece like inlaid die cut effect.

The mermaid and sea horse are just adorable and love the waves from Magical Mates framelit dies to create a pocket insert with the waves border. Ink blending and copic colouring have been applied for the background and die cut love sentiment.

The fabulous unicorn has been set against an elegant dazzling diamonds glimmer paper die cut floral background using the lovely Bloomin' Hearts thinlits. Copic colouring used for both the unicord and the love die cut sentiment.

The final card has the dragon and the knight celebrating love. This was a fun card to make with the hearts die cut window frames and the multiple die cut love sentiment. Ink blending used on Shimmery cardstock with distress inks to get that water distress effect. Copic colouring used on the images as well as on the wooden chipboard heart embellishment that the dragon is holding.

I hope you have enjoyed and found inspiration. All these sets work so well together, adding so much more creativity and use out of them. Thank you to Jessie for organising this wonderful hop. Please be sure to continue to hop around and see all  the amazing creations featuring the love theme.
Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time - Happy Crafting!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 20 - Fun With Food! So Smooth

Hello and welcome. Today's card has been inspired and entered in Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #20 - Fun with food! It was a great way to use these awesome newly acquired stamps sets that feature all healthy and wholesome plant based food. Vegan and plant based of course - it's delicious and not malicious to your health, animals and the planet.

Yay! My card was featured on the Fun With Food Challenge #20. Thanks Lawn Fawn. :)

The stamp sets I have used are, So Smooth, Thanks a Bushel, Make Lemonade, Happy Summer, Aloha. The dies used are Palm Trees and the new You're Sweet line border. I have also used the Large stitched rectangle die on the front panel card base.

These sets are so much fun to colour in and put together, all colourful and makes a stunning display overall. I was pleasantly surprised and fell in love with the So Smooth set as it contained a Vegan option incorporating Almond Milk - props to the designer for making this set. It's so refreshing and promising to see this, especially in stamp sets. All the images have been coloured in with copic markers and first stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Copic Xpress it blend cardstock.

The fruits inside the blender has been achieved by making a mask of the bananas and strawberries on a post it note and hand cutting them out to use as masks over the stamped image to gradually build up the layout. It's such a great technique to use to make your own custom scenes with any stamped images. I have added glossy accents over the top to emulate the glass effect when dried, hard  to see on the photos but it adds so much interest to the image in person.

I have used my electronic cutter machine to cut out the images and is so helpful especially with so many images and saves time as colouring can take some time too.

The images have been popped up with foam dimensionals to make them all stand out and add depth. The background has been ink blended with some water droplets on smooth Bristol card stock using Ranger distress inks, Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Dried Marigold, just love this colour combination as it goes so well with many scenes especially for a summer feel.

I have added in the palm leaves from Palm Trees dies to add to the summer feel and works well framing the die cut sentiment using the You're Sweet line border die. To add depth to the sentiment it has been die cut three times and adhered together. This makes it stand out better as it's raised up. The apostrophe is very fiddly so a tool pick or tweezer helps to position it on there. It's a great die with many possibilities and was even thinking of doing something with the negative die cut space. Perhaps for next time as it would be great for a shaker window.

The sentiment underneath is from So Smooth stamp set, that has been white heat embossed using Ranger super fine detail white embossing powder.  It always works a treat and perfect for fine detailed sentiments. The sentiment is just perfect for the theme as well as the recipient of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed and found inspiration. The Lawn Fawnatics food challenge is a lot of fun to take part in, and good to see a few healthy options on there, it would be nice to think that most of the foods are the Vegan version hehe.
