Timeless Love Blooms...

Hello and Happy Friday! It's that time of the week again for another card making challenge. I have entered these cards for both the Global Design Project and Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. You might be asking why so many? I just couldn't stop at one lol. I was also influenced by the color challenge over at Global Design Project. The three colors are Night of Navy, Calypso Coral and Sahara Sand as per the banner below. I was so thrilled that my card received special mention last week for #GDP032 - Work of art with a nice cuppa. It's such a thrill to have such an acknowledgement.  :)

I love the color palette for this week's color challenge that I just had to show the combination of these great colors together. The card themes are from the great set Timeless Love stamp set and have used all three sentiments in the set to represent each greeting in the respective colors of the challenge.

It's such a great set that you can create your own custom made dsp as you can see. Just by randomly stamping it to best advantage, adds appeal to the card front and by white heat embossing the image can give you another look.

To compliment the Timeless Love set/theme, I have used the Bloom'n Love and Bloomin' Hearts Thinlit dies. The intricate die cut floral heart just gives it a wow factor with the addition of the small die cut flowers. I have also added rhinestones and glimmer paper for the flowers just for the sparkle.
The banners with the sentiment as well as the small die cut heart have been mounted and raised with fun foam for an even surface.

I have also decorated the inside of each card and just played with the color combinations. I just love to decorate the inside to give the cards love and attention and finish it off with the theme/sentiment in mind.

Inside of the Congratulations card
I have made it fun with the dots using dots decorative mask.

Inside the Happy Anniversary card.
Using the semi circle flower and placed it to best advantage to show the centre flower bloom.

Inside the You Make My Heart Smile card.
Once again the floral image set to best advantage.

I hope you enjoyed my card creations and found some inspiration from it. For more creative inspirations head on over to the Global Design Project and see the wonderful creations using these three colors from so many talented cardmakers from around the world. Hopefully you'll join the fun too!

Sending Good Thoughts - PPA297 Color Challenge

Hello and welcome back!  I've been inspired by my fellow Crazy Crafters to take part in the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. It looks like so much fun and love the colour challenge they have this week. The colours are: Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party and designed by Jackie Diediker. The colours resonate with spring and although it's autumn here in the southern hemisphere, I can imagine it being spring hehe. Here is the banner:

Here is my card - Spring inspired floral blooms.

My card has been created using several Stampin' Up! sets:

• Bloomin' Love & Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies
• Timeless Textures
• Perfect Penants  & Banners Framelits
• Botanical Builder Framelits Dies

Timeless Textures
The card stock is pool party and have been stamped with the texture from Timeless Textures in pool party. It has a linen texture about it and gives an interest in the background with the tone on tone stamping.

Bloomin' Love & Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies
The flowers are from the Bloomin' Love set and have been stamped with the three colors from the challenge on whisper white and have been die cut with the coordinating thinlit dies.
The Bloomin' Love set has two kinds of flowers available - filled and and outlined and have used them accordingly for a variety.

Botanical Builder Framelits Dies
The little leaves are the off cuts from the Botanical Builder Framelits dies, using the arched vine shape in Pool Party cardstock. I have added them on to complete the floral look and give them some dimension.

Perfect Penants & Banners Framelits
The sentiment: "Sending Good Thoughts Your Way" is from Perfect Pennants and have been die cut using the coordinating banner framelit dies. I have also added height and thickness by die cutting additional banners in the same size from coaster board. It sets off the banner and makes it almost pop out.

Inside Card
I have brought the same elements on the inside of the card and simplified it by just decorating the bottom section. The hello sentiment is from Perfect Pairings and have used additional coaster board to make the sentiment and banner pop in height.

It's sad that the Perfect Pennant stamp set is retiring on 31st May. So be sure to grab this great set before it's gone forever. I hope my card has inspired you to create something fun and play with your stamp sets to create a similar look. For more colour inspirations please take a look at the Pals Paper Arts creative projects using this colour combinations from so many talented cardmakers. Hopefully you can join in too and share your creativity.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

Work of Art - Tribute to Prince

Hello. I thought I would share this card I made as a tribute to Prince. It's so sad to hear the news of his passing, it doesn't seem real, but he will live on in his music. It's a great loss to the music industry and he'll be greatly missed. This card has been influenced by his album Purple Rain one of my favourite albums. In his iconic purple colour, I have used Elegant Eggplant for the card stock.

I have used the black and white portrait photo below and replicated it as a pencil drawing with watercolour using basic black archival ink. The sentiment is from Work of Art stamp set as he truly was and will always be a fabulous work of art. I have used the Birthday Bouquet DSP to follow on from the Purple Rain album art. Sadly this DSP has been retired but any floral patterned paper could be used or even stamped floral images.

Inside the card, I have replicated the above photo as a pencil drawing and lightly watercoloured it in basic black archival ink. The flower is from Butterfly Basics stamp set and have only watercoloured the petals in purple (elegant eggplant) to keep that nostalgic feel. The purple splash is from Work of Art and has been watercoloured in. His name has been die cut out using the Little Letters Thinlits dies and have outlined it in white using uni-ball Signo gel pen. A strip of the same floral pattern from Birthday Bouquet DSP is on the bottom.

Prince is one a kind and just love his music and artistry. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for visiting and hope to see you again next time. :)

Work of art with a nice cuppa

Hello! Happy Friday! I thought I would make the card pictured above for both the Global Design Project and Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. This week's Global Design Project is "Case the Designer Challenge" - Copy And Selectively Edit - Krista Frattin. Her beautiful card is on the banner below. I admire Krista's work, she's on the Artisan Design Team and love her beautiful style. Please click on the banner below to see the many wonderful creations from around the world. Hopefully you'll also be inspired and join in the fun. :)

I have taken the soft pastel colours and white space to create my whimsical style card inspired by Krista. I have used three stamp sets to achieve this look.
• Nice Cuppa - tea cup framelit die, heart and sentiment inside card
• Butterfly Basics - Flower
• Work of Art - Just for You sentiment and brush strokes on the tea cup

It is with such regret that the Nice Cuppa set and Decorative Stripes mask are both retiring and thought I would showcase them before the final curtain falls. I have made a side folding landscape format and have carried the front design to the inside of the card showing the cute play on word sentiment "You're Tea-riffic" with a tea bag label silver heat embossed on vellum.

Here's how the card looks inside: To add delicateness I have die cut  a doily trim on the side of the tea cup. :)

Here is how I made the card:

• Stamp the flower image from Butterfly Basics and I have used Molotow Art masking fluid it's in a pen form, to mask before stamping the image over it.

• When all the images have been stamped and masked with masking fluid, I have used the Stripes decorative mask over the top as pictured and taped it down.

• I have then used my blending applicator tool - sponge dauber to apply the ink colour. Start lightly and work from the centre out. You gradually spread the colour and lightly spreading it following the stencil.

• This is the finished application with stripe stencil/mask. I then rub out the masking fluid to reveal the stamped images.

Here is the finish card once again. I have silver heat embossed the hearts from the Nice cuppa set and embellished it with  some white and clear sequins. They're almost like miniature contact lenses and can be hard to see hehe, but having them placed randomly is in the style of Krista Frattin don't you think? :) It's sad that the nice cuppa set is retiring on 31st May, so don't forget to place your order before it's gone forever.

For more wonderful creations please click on the header below  to see our team's creations. You get to vote for your favourite cards. :) Thank you so much for the votes last week, as my card had the highest votes. It's greatly appreciated! Hope you like this card too. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time! Cheers :)
