Papercraft Business Challenge Blog - Season's Wishes

Happy Friday! Today is the official start of the Papercraft Business Challenge blog and am so excited to be sharing some fabulous designs with you at the start of every month as a design team member. This month's challenge is 'Anything Goes' or Christmas optional.  Click here or on the banner below to join in the fun and check out the design team's creative projects for more inspiration.

To make it even more exciting there is a prize for the winner!
The winning prize is: Magnolia Designs – Christmas Eve Edwin stamp

With Christmas just around the corner, I have created a fun and festive card using the adorable images from Mama Elephant. The Little Reindeer Agenda set are just simply irresistible and looks awesome set against the town scene from the City Sidewalk set.

I have used  the Season's Wishes and On The Hills Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant's new Christmas release. Both these sets work so well with existing sets and allows greater scene building possibilities. The On The Hills dies is so versatile and will definitely be used a lot in future card making especially for creating scenes and comes complete with faux stitched detailing.

I love the clean and simple look in cards and the Mama Elephant imagery lends itself to this style very well. The images are coloured in with Copic markers and stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink. The gorgeous Season's Wishes sentiment looks fabulous in a white embossed resist ink blended background. I always try and incorporate some white heat embossing to my cards as it gives it that extra special touch and truly highlights the sentiment.  The sentiment underneath is from Merry Wishes and adds a warm greeting for the season.

Ink blending has been achieved using Ranger distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Dried Marigold), with a round mini ink blending tool. The key is to start off light and a gentle pressure and slowly build up the tones and gradient. Love this colour combination as it's a sunrise kind of feeling.

Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock has been used as it works so well with ink blending and glides like butter and is so forgiving! It truly is one of my favourite cardstock staples and can hold water pretty well as you can see in the water droplets ink distressing.

I hope you enjoyed and found inspiration. Love to hear what you think. I would also love for you to join in our first card challenge and can't wait to see what you create! Click here to join in the fun, Thanks so much for stopping by, until next time - Happy Crafting! :)

  2. Hi Juan, I had trouble with leaving a comment. The first one disappeared so I did a test comment, which worked but I deleted it. Sorry about that.

Your card is beautiful! I love those Mama Elephant stamps & your ink blending is awesome. The sentiment looks awesome too. Such beautiful work!
