World Card Making Day Blog Hop - Places You'll Go

Welcome to our World Card Making Day Blog Hop using current Stampin' Up!® Products. This is such a fantastic way to celebrate this event with lots of amazing inspiration for you. You are currently visiting my blog - Juana Ambida in Australia and you will be visiting lots of different places in your hop today. There is a list at the end of the page which will help you to move along from blog to blog so you see all the amazing projects.

This happens to be my second blog hop today, as I just couldn't contain the excitement for this special day. To celebrate, I have used the Places You'll Go set - the globe image just seemed very fitting.

I have made three cards to show how wonderful and versatile this set can be and using this set alone with a few added embellishments. Here they are...

I wanted to create something simple yet artistic and a watercolour background wash was a great way to highlight the globe. I have used Gansai Tambi Watercolors in Yellow, Aqua and Blue as they give such a vibrant finish.

The ink wash is created by wetting the watercolour paper and just liberally dropping in the watercolor and let the water do all the work. I have heat dried each colour before adding the next  one so that the colours don't get muddy when wet. There's no rhyme or reason to adding the colours, just have fun and go with the flow.  I just love how each card is unique in the end, as you can see in the variations.

I have paired each sentiment with a copper embossed image that matches and they are, the heart in Missing you, the plane in Adventures Awaits and the star in Welcome.

The Globe and Wreath has been white heat embossed for that embossed ink resist effect with watercolouring as well as ink blending on the inside of the card.

All the cards have been mounted on an A2 top folding basic black cardstock, as it not only frames each card front but also helps make the colours pop. Arches watercolour paper has been used for the watercolour card fronts.

Missing You Card

Embossed resist ink blending using Pool Party. Sentiment has been stamped over the top in black Stazon ink.

Welcome Card

I have used painters tape to create a mask/strip for the watercolour panel.
I have used the Layering Circles framelits to cut out the wreath/globe and mounted this on fun foam for an even raise.

Adventure Awaits Card

To give the globe another dimension, I have cut a window using the layering circles framelits. The sentiment has then been stamped on a window sheet that has been adhered in the between the card front panels. It's a great way to have the sentiment floating in between.

The globe is white heat embossed and ink blending has been used.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and found inspiration. Thanks for visiting my blog today, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog - JUANA AMBIDA, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.
