Pines Wreath with Merry Medley - Case this Card Challenge #CTC003

Hello and welcome back! I hope you all had a good weekend. It's been a miserable rainy day here today sadly and I think looking back at it, my card has been influenced by the weather lol. On a brighter note, I have made this card as part of Jessie Holton's Case This Card Challenge #CTC003 where I am Caseing myself or the card I entered last week. Can you believe? lol I never would have thought this would happen, but as part of the challenge the winner becomes the card to case for the next challenge and lucky me hehe. Make sure to check out the creative entries that are casing my card I made last week. Hopefully you'll join in and create something fabulous. Here is the card I entered last week:

Below is the card 'CASEing' myself. See what I mean about the cold rainy day? - it shows through the card I think lol. At first I did white on gray background as you can see in the back. Then I did the opposite by stamping gray on white and added ink blending with Smoky Slate for a tone on tone look. I preferred this effect in the end as it gave an antique look to the card and possibly the weather conditions played a part in it hehe. I also chose this as the background as I wanted to make a wreath using the Pretty Pines thinlits dies. I got this idea from the Holiday catalogue sample of the wreath and to change it up I wanted to use white and had done something similar using Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for shimmer.

There's approximately 10 of the smallest pine leaves die cut and was a bit tricky at first to assemble. I used a small sticky strip tape on the bottom of each pines and adhered them forming a circle as I found this to be the neatest way of adhering such delicate and thin leaves without getting sticky fingers hehe. It's doubled up to give the bulk and fullness.

I have used the Candy Cane Lane baker's twine to make the wreath look authentic and hanging as well as for a decorative feature. To add some hint to my previous card I have used the same patterned paper from Warmth and Cheer dsp stack for the die cut bow from Pretty Pines thinlits dies.

The berries on the wreath have been done using the red foil sheets (retired item) and the Holly Berry Builder punch to cut out the little berries. Any red card could be used or even red enamel dots. To give them a 3D look, I have added clear glossy accents on the top. This is added at the very end after the wreath has been adhered as it needs some time to dry.

On the inside is quite similar to my previous card except that I have changed the colour to smoky slate and glimmer paper on this one and used a different sentiment with the key word 'Sparkle'.

I hope you enjoyed this card and found inspiration. This is another example of how versatile this set can be and makes a perfect background. By changing the colour and techniques used, can give such a striking look and feel. The supplies are listed below and are available on my online store.
