Merry Medley Christmas Card - Case This Card Challenge #CTC002

Hello and welcome back!  Hope you all had a good weekend.

I wanted to take part in Jessie Holton's new card challenge Case This Card #CTC002 once again and just in time too. The winner of last week's challenge was Kim Oliver's gorgeous card (pictured below) and we now get to CASE her winning card design as part of the challenge. CASE stands for 'Copy and Selectively Edit'. You can take anything from the card that inspires you and make it your own and not just to make an exact copy. Be sure to head on over Jessie's card challenge and check out the other creative entries. She has a new challenge every Wednesday and hopefully you can join in the fun too.

I absolutely love Kim's stunning card layout and colours and have been inspired to use a similar white heat embossed look and have a window/acetate panel to feature on my card.

Here is my card carrying over Kim's stylish influences and have made a Christmas card featuring the fabulous Merry Medley set from the new holiday catalogue. I have also used the Christmas Pines bundle to incorporate some foliage to the card.

This is an A2 top folding card with a window sheet front panel.  The Merry Medley image has been stamped using White Stazon ink as this gives the best result for stamping on acetate. It's not perfect in some areas but gives that special handmade look.

The window sheet panel  is adhered onto an A2 top folding Crumb Cake card stock. I have trimmed the front to leave a flap at the top where I have adhered the acetate panel to using sticky strip at the bottom edge. To cover up the adhesive I have tied gold baker's twine over the top and made a bow. The gold baker's twine is also from the new catalgoue.

This card is quite similar to previous card I made in this style/layout where it's like a book and allows you to see both the front and back of the dsp. You can click here to see the card Serene Thankful Thoughts. The patterned paper used is from the Warmth and Cheer Designer series paper stack and helps make the stamped sentiment in the front stand out.

This is how it looks as you open it. As you can see I have decorated it with die cut Christmas Pines and acorns using the lovely Pretty Pines thinlits. I have used Always artichoke for the leaves and Gold Foil Sheet for the acorns. This patterned paper help line everything up thanks to the inherent grid lines hehe.

This is the inside of the card. The reverse pattern of the dsp can be seen which adds another design interest. I have stamped the pines image from Christmas Pines set in Garden Green and have stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon ink. It's kept simple to allow space to write a personal message.

I hope you enjoyed my card and found inspiration. The Merry Medley set is just a wonderful stamp to work with and being a background stamp helps create an instant card front. You could also just pick a particular sentiment and use that also. There are so many other creative ways you can use this set and would look great used to make your own stamped gift wrapping paper as an example. The supplies are listed below and are available on my online store.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Happy Crafting! :)
