Serene Thankful Thoughts

Happy Friday! Today's card has been created for a customer order wanting a Thank You card to give to a male recipient. In order to fulfill the brief, I had been intending to use the fabulous Thankful Thoughts set with the Serene Scenery designer series paper and was highly inspired by this week's Global Design Project sketch challenge as well as a card by Bruno Bertucci that he made for our June blog hop with France Martin.

Here is Bruno's card that I have 'Cased' for his ingenious layout with the window front panel:

Please make sure to check out the creative projects by the talented design team. I always draw so much inspiration from their gorgeous designs. Hopefully you'll also be inspired to take part. :)

Here is my card incorporating the influences from Bruno's card front and GDP sketch challenge.

I started with an A2 top folding card in thick whisper white cardstock. The window panel has been die cut using the Project Life Cards & Labels framelits dies and just the perfect size - love the rounded corners. I have die cut this twice so as to sandwich and cover the adhesive of the window sheet that is in between.

The beach/waves is from Serene Scenery dsp and makes a superb focal point and sets the tone for this card. This has been adhered to the card spine similar to Bruno's card, it's like a page on it's own and you can see the pattern on the back. As you can see, the Thank You So Much sentiment has been white heat embossed on the dsp. I originally had the sentiment stamped on the window sheet with White Stazon but did not look as crisp as white heat embossing on paper.

To add to the beach look, I have used the greenery images from Pop of Paradise set that have been fussy cut and copper heat emboss for the pineapple. The leaves are stamped with Emerald Envy and Cucumber Crush and were left overs from my Pop of Paradise card in a box, you can see the post here. I have also used Very Vanilla thick bakers twine for a natural textured look.

On the inside of the card, I have used another photo from Serene Scenery dsp with this soft muted sky background and has been adhered on the back of the card. I have white heat embossed the sentiment on vellum using the same die cut window panel from the front.  The same greenery elements have been added as well and it perfectly covers up the adhesive for the vellum. I hope you enjoyed my card and found inspiration. Both Thankful Thoughts set and Serene Scenery dsp are just fabulous to use and the photographic dsp is just breathtaking and makes a perfect background for the sentiments.

This card has also been entered in tonight's Crazy Crafters team project highlights. Be sure to check out the creative projects by our team and remember to vote for your favourites.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Cheers! :)

  3. I love it Juana, I missed Bruno's creation oh my how did that happen? lol. I missed this awesome Stamp Set you have used as well, but I think I am forgiven as the Annual Catalogue is just so amazing right? I would love to re case this case if I may? So glad Bruno is not entering his card too this week or that would be me totally out of the votes hahaha. With a little amount of products you have shown what your imagination can do. Thank you Juana for sharing your talent.

  5. This is fantastic way of using DSP!! And having a few inserts in the card is really inspiring. It's like a mini book, isn't it?! So much fun.
