I Think You're Purrrfect! Love your Cat-itude!

Hello friends, it's that time again for another Global Design Project and it's another fun challenge. One of my favourites: a Colour Challenge! Yay!

A very challenging colour combination: Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso, but so much fun also.

Here is the card I created. It features the cute stamp set “You Little Furball”, from the annual catalogue on page 90. Being a cat lover and having three cats, I just find this stamp set irresistible and perfect to use as a subject matter for this challenge. It's a trinity lol and I have assigned the three colours to each cat and just ran with it.

My card uses many layers and textures with each element assigned to one of the three colours from the challenge respectively.

I have made a top folding card in Early Espresso and used Sahara Sand card stock for the mat/panel as it has a warmer tone against the dark brown rather than stark white. To have a fun background I have used the dots decorative mask stencil to create a polka dot pattern and did an ombre effect with the three colours blending with sponge daubers in a diagonal manner. I have added a pinpoint border along the edge for interest, using the essential paper-piercing pack. This is available in the Clearance Rack and a great deal at 60% discount!

You Little Furball is such a fun stamp set and is a Two-Step Stampin' set, which gives you so many creative options, combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want. Mix and match the images for your perfect kitty cat. I highly recommend using Stamp-a-ma-jig as it's a handy tool to get the images perfectly aligned if you wanted to have them as one image. Alternatively, you can stamp the body and head individually and attach the head separately by fussy cutting it and mounting it on foam dimensionals. The three cats are done in the three colours all adorning the banner, “I Think You’re Purrrfect!” is one of the fun sentiments in the set. The banner die cut is made using the Number of Years thinlits die. I have fussy cut the cats and popped them up on foam dimensionals to raise them up. Don’t you just love the pearls and rhinestone on their collars? it makes a great accessory.

The base panel behind the cats is vellum and makes a great light translucent layer and I have stamped the streaks from Gorgeous Grunge set, which I have appropriated from the cute card example on page 90 in the annual catalogue. To change it up, I have stamped it horizontally and white heat embossed it, as I love this look on vellum.

On the top of that I have used a panel of Early Espresso and added the pinpoint pierced line for interest. The rest I have used scraps and offcuts from previous projects. The zig zag Bermuda Bay strip borders are created using the border edge from the Mini Treats thinlits dies. The small strip of Tangelo Twist diagonal stripe is from 2014-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.

To raise it up from the base card stock I have mounted the whole panel up on foam dimensionals and looks more aesthetically pleasing.

Inside the card I have placed the same layout of the cats on top of the banner, with another sentiment from the set, “Love Your Cat-itude!” so appropriate! The streaks again, are from Gorgeous Grunge set and has been stamped vertically in the three colours as a highlight that perfectly coordinates to the three cat colours.

I have used Shimmery White card stock which has a softer tone than pure white and has nice a shimmer to it also.  This is are layered on top of a Bermuda Bay mat and makes a great colour border contrast with the Early Espresso. Well I hope you like my card and have found some inspiration to use this lovely stamp set, especially if you love cats or know someone who are cat lovers too. It’s been so much fun making this card as all the elements I have used all co-ordinate from inks to card stock which Stampin’ Up! does so well.
