CCDT February Blog Hop - Happy Easter from You're Inspiring set

Hello and welcome to the Creative Circle February blog hop. The theme for this month is 'Easter or Eggstraodinary'. The set I have used is 'You're Inspiring' from the Occasions catalogue and is a great set for Easter with the classic daffodil images. The set also includes many other greetings that can be used throughout the year which makes it a versatile set.

I have created two cards that feature the beautiful daffodils. They have been framed to create a focal point as well as fussy cutting to create layers and depth for visual impact.

Here they are... I have also used the Layering Squares framelits for the die cut window frames and the Pinewood Planks dynamic embossing folder for the added texture on the card panel.

The first card is created using a masked square window frame with the layering squares framelits and ink blending using distress inks, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China. The smaller group daffodil images have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and I have coloured them in with Prismacolor pencils, being wax based they can still go over the ink blended background without being too transparent. The main daffodil image has been coloured in with Copic markers for quick and easy colouring, it's a fine image and would be perfect to colour in using coloured pencils for detailing.

To add textures I have added ink splatters as well as gold embossed splatters using a retired Gorgeous Grunge set which is so handy for this effect as it's controlled splattering.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed on a strip Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock and ink/embossed resist blending using distress ink Mermaid Lagoon. It covers the base of the daffodil and extends the visual framing and grounds the whole composition together.

As a finishing touch I have added clear sequins and went over the daffodils with clear wink of Stella for some shimmer.

The second card is the inverted version where the daffodils are contained within the window frame. The same colouring and elements used though a bit more fussy cutting with the smaller daffodils to create a 3D look. The front panel has been mounted with fun foam for an even raise and foam dimensionals for the daffodils. I have used a strip of vellum to add the sentiment which has been white heat embossed. It adds a light sheer layer and blends in very well to the overall design.

I hope you have enjoyed and found inspiration. This set is so versatile with many ways to use the stamped images from stamp masking to multiple repeated stamping and many more. The images are just fabulous to colour and always looks stunning. Make sure to continue hopping around from the list below to see all the amazing projects from the Creative Circle team. Thank you so much for stopping by, till next time - Happy Crafting! :)
