Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Carry Over Products

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop, running monthly. You are currently visiting Juana Ambida from Australia. I hope you enjoy my project showcasing one of my favourite 'Carry Over" products from the old catalogue to the new one.

The Lift Me Up bundle is a personal favourite from the Occasions catalogue and have created another card in a box creation. Its looks cool to see the balloons floating among the clouds. Thanks to the coordinating dies in the set help make it so easy to construct.

Here it is...

The new Color Theory dsp blue gradient patterned paper is perfect sky backdrop and have used both patterns to give a seamless gradient effect. The darker striped panels help to add contrast and set off the sentiment.

To be honest, I made a mistake with measuring the dsp at the beginning as the lower part of the box is slighty taller. I wanted to have the gradient flowing as per the patterned design from top to bottom. However, I just went ahead with the already cut pieces and trimmed to fit so there was no wastage. Somehow it still turned out and glad I went ahead with it.

By having the lighter stripe pattern at the base of the box helps to extend the sky background of the back panel rather than the darker panels which is now on the flaps. The darker blue stripes on the front flaps/panels also help to accentuate the white heat embossed sentiment. Some mistakes can still turn out fortunately, and no one would really notice in the overall picture hehe.

The design is kept pretty simple using the same monochromatic colouring with the hot air balloons. It's a great way to add a pop of colour and still in keeping with the design. Copic markers have been used and stamped with Copic safe Memento Tuxedo black ink. Whisper White cardstock is used for the base card in a box to tie in with the Color Theory dsp striping and the overall clouds. Soft Sky ink used for the clouds to keep the light and airy feel.

Strips of window sheets have been used to prop up the balloons and clouds and is a great way to use up all the small off cuts/scraps from your stash. Tear and tape has been used to adhere them or mini glue dots would also work well. Foam dimensionals used for the cloud on the front panel for extra dimension.

The back of  the card has ink blending using Dapper Denim and a bit of Soft Sky ink for a gradient ombre effect. The large magenta/pink hot air balloon from the front is used again with the two clouds to help create the scene. The remaining space can be used to add a personal message.

The card in a box folds flat and creates another design element and perfect to post out.

I hope you have enjoyed this card in a box featuring the hot air balloon from the marvelous Lift Me Up bundle. The creativity is endless and so glad it has been carried over to the new catalogue. Make sure you continue to hop around and see all the amazing projects - you don't want to miss any!

Thank you so much for stopping by, till next time - Happy Crafting!
