Stamp Review Crew - Colorful Seasons Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp Review Crew blog hop and we are highlighting the brand new Colorful Seasons stamp set. I have been having so much fun playing with this set and wanted to make a summer thematic card. It's officially the start of winter here in the southern hemisphere and creating this card is reminiscing the warmer weather.

I have made two cards and just couldn't help myself but to try and make a beach scene card in a box using the wonderful Seasonal Layers dies in this bundle. The scallop border edge die was perfect to create the waves using both the positive and negative die cuts. The Color Theory designer paper stack in Dapper Denim gradients has been utilised using the entire sheet both front and back to cover all the panels on the card in a box.  The card base is Dapper Denim and coordinates well. Staggering the scallop border on the front panel as well as the waves on the top is an effective way to create visually interesting layers.

The background panel has been ink blended using a round mini ink blending tool in Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight for a warm sunset backdrop. The white heat embossed sentiments just pops against this ink blended background.

Crumb Cake cardstock used for the sand landscape. I have used a retired Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride edgelits die to create it, but you could easily cut one out freehand. I have mounted this on with a strip of fun foam on  the back to give an even raise.

The black frame of the beach chair, has been stamped with Versafine onxy black pigment ink and then clear heat embossed. The white fabric image has been stamped in Versamark ink and white heat embossed. The chair has been hand cut out and mounted on top with Stampin' dimensionals for added dimension.

For the back, I have done white heat embossed ink resist for the sentiment and added the same ink blended colours used on the front with the addition of Dapper Denim.

The additional die cut chair from the Seasonal Layers thinlits has been added and ink blended to help tie it in to the colour scheme.

The card in a box folds flat and creates another visual layered look both front and back.

This is my second card, a spin off the first one using the scallop border. This time using the entire Daffodil Delight gradient sheet from the Color Theory dsp. The scallop border edge is facing up and represents a stylised sand base. The die cut chairs has been inserted in between the scallop edge borders and ink blended with Dapper Denim. The base scallop has been ink blended in Daffodil Delight ink to intensify the colour and make it pop even more.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed on vellum and die cut out using the Layering Circles dies. It has been adhered with both tear and tape and Tombow mono liquid glue on strategic areas such as under the glitter enamel dots and scallop edge so that the glue wont be seen.

This was a fun card to make, clean and simple and thanks to that scallop border die helped jazz it up.

I hope you have enjoyed both cards and found inspiration. The Colorful Seasons bundle is such a versatile set and can be used all year round - the creativity is endless! Purchasing it as a bundle is a great way to save 10% and you'll want the dies set for sure.

Make sure to hop all around so you wont miss anything. There are so many wonderful inspirations in stall. Next up on the hop is Valerie Moody, you're going love what she has created.

Thank you so much for stopping by, till next time - Happy Crafting! :)
