Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Holly Stene

Hello and welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our special guest Holly Stene. Holly is highly talented and is part of the illustrious Artisan team. We are so privileged and thrilled to be hopping and casing her amazing works.

I was instantly drawn to these fabulous cards showcasing the new Eastern Beauty bundle with the gorgeous watercolored backgrounds. You can click here to check them out in more detail.

Here are the cards that I have Cased and drew inspiration from Holly's gorgeous cards above.

I have used the new Colorful Seasons bundle along with some of the new in Colors, and they work so well with this technique. Creating the watercolor backgrounds is a great way to portray the seasons of the set and in particular loose watercolor backgrounds is just so quick and forgiving with lots of creative possibilities.  Each one is unique and no two cards will be alike with this technique. White heat embossed and ink resist is also perfect with this technique. The addition of vellum has also been used to create another interesting layer and texture that Holly has incorporated in her cards. The watercolor becomes lighter as it dries and it's still looks amazing, just love how organic it looks and you could even add droplets of water on top for a subtle distressed texture.

Autumn/Fall: Watercolor background using Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight inks. Arches smooth watercolor paper used with white heat embossed resist of the maple leaves.
Sentiment white heat embossed on whisper white cardstock and then ink blended using daffodil delight and calypso Coral with ink blending tool.Die cut leaves are from Seasonal Layers thinlits and have been ink blended in the same colors. The outlined maple leaf has been die cut using vellum and inked up with Daffodil Delight as another way to coordinate and add interest.

Winter: Watercolor background using Dapper Denim and Pool Party inks.

Die cut snow flakes are a mixture of normal cardstock and vellum helps to create a translucent effect.
Don't you just love the new glitter enamel dots? They just add the perfect finishing touch and designed to coordinate with these similar colors and bundle.

Spring: Watercolor background - Berry Burst and Powder Pink.
Eastern Medallion thinlits used to accentuate the white heat embossed sentiment and the partial die cut of the thinlit blends so well with the rest of the blooms. Base cardstock is Berry Burst with watercolor paper front panel. Top half of card has the petals been ink blended in Berry Burst and Powder Pink while the bottom half has been stamped in Powder pink and die cut out using the coordinating thinlits for contrast and versatility of this set.

I hope you enjoyed this set of cards. It has been so much fun creating them and this bundle is just fabulous with the coordinating dies! It truly is colorful - just love mentioning and spelling color in this way lol! I will surely be making more using this set. The Colorful Season bundle is available to order now and purchasing it as a bundle gives you a 10% saving as you cannot live without the dies.

Make sure you continue to hop around and check out all the amazing creations casing the lovely and amazing Holly Stene. It's been an absolute pleasure casing her work and hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop. Till next time, Happy Crafting! :)
