Hello and welcome to the Crazy Crafters November Blog Hop. We are so honoured to have a very special guest Amy Koenders from the US joining us. As part of the hop we get to CASE her gorgeous creations.
I have chosen to case the card below for the fun layout and bright colours. Amy was inspired by Case this Sketch Challenge #197. I particularly love the diagonal cut panel and is so striking. Amy has also featured a new stamp set from the new Occasions catalogue called Cool Treats - don't you just love it? love the bright gelato colours of Pool Party and Watermelon Mambo and Peekaboo Peach.
In keeping with new stamp sets, I couldn't wait to have a play with the Lift Me Up bundle that is also from the new Occasions catalogue. It was part of my pre-order for attending Onstage Live Brisbane.
This is such a fun set and can be used all year round thanks to the many varied sentiments from Birthdays, Congratulations, Thank you, Thinking of you and Love. The hot air balloon dies are to die for excuse the pun hehe. This is my new favourite set so far and is such a joy to use.
I have made a special Thank you card to send to a friend who lives far away, and just love how the sentiment ties in with the hot air balloon and imagery, "Sending Smiles across the miles".
The patterned paper I chose from the Carried Away designers series paper, reminded me of the colours on Amy's card. It's an aerial view from the hot air balloon and the lines or roads worked out perfectly to use as a diagonal line reflecting Amy's inspired sketch layout.
The great thing with Stampin' Up! designer series papers, is all the colour combination is all worked out for you and have used the same colours and all coordinates harmoniously.
• Mint Macaron for the card base and the coordinating Striped Ribbon.
• Night of Navy for the die cut hot air balloon and part of the stamped sentiment
• Peekaboo Peach for the word smiles and the large band in the hot air balloon.
• Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral for the band in the balloon as well as Daffodil Delight as a new colour to compliment Peekaboo Peach. All the bands have been die cut individually using the dies in the set.
The hot air balloon has been layered several times using several die cut pieces to give it height and thickness and gives an even raise.
Inside the card, I have used the other two hot air balloon images as well as the clouds, they are stamped and die cut using the coordinating dies. Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder for the hot air balloons and Smoky Slate for the clouds.
The sentiment has been white heat embossed on a strip of Night of Navy cardstock and have used the banner punch to cut out a fist tail end. The hot air balloon and sentiment have been mounted on dimensionals to make them pop and add layering.
The background has been ink blended using Mint Macaron and coordinates perfectly with the base cardstock.
Here is a sneak peek of the Lift Me Up bundle, it includes Lift Me Up stamp set and Carried Away Dies. The Carried Away designer series paper is from Sale-A-Bration and is FREE for purchases over $90. It is the perfect addition to this wonderful bundle. These will be available to order from 4 January 2017 for customers. However if you cannot wait that long why not join and get all the perks of becoming a new demonstrator whilst keeping your hobby going?
I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I had fun making it. This is just one example and will surely continue making more cards using the rest of the fabulous sentiments in the set. Love to hear your thoughts. A big thanks to Amy for her wonderful card inspiration.
Make sure you continue to hop all the way around and see all the amazing inspiration from the Crazy Crafters team. You are going to love what our team have come up with using Amy's cards. Currently you are at my blog: Juana Ambida - so check the list to see who is up next. Enjoy!
