Garden in Bloom - Hope you're feeling special today...

Hello and welcome. Today's card has been entered in two card challenges Jessie Holton's Case This Card Challenge #CTC005 and Pals Paper Arts PPA320.

I was so honoured that my card was chosen as the winner for last week's Case This Card challenge and get to CASE my card once again in this week's challenge. - what a privilege!

Here is the card for last week #CTC004 - Butterfly Basics in Watercolour.

Pals Paper Arts PPA320 - A Sketch Challenge From Dawn Tidd was almost similar to my card layout from last week with the ribbon/panel on the side and have used this lovely sketch challenge on my card.

Please be sure to check out both challenges for more creative inspirations and hopefully you'll be inspired to join in the fun. :)

To follow on from the watercolour and florals on my last card, I have chosen  to have a play with the Garden In Bloom set and do something similar. This set has a watercolour feel to it and rather than using the filled in images to colour in the flowers and leaves, I decided to use the outlined images and do a watercolour with white heat embossed resist.

There isn't a card that I haven't made without using white heat embossing - the effect is just wonderful especially with watercolouring.

Here is the card...

Once again I have used Gansai Tambi watercolours as it gives such a vibrant and lovely finish. I have made a mask for the main flower so that it can be built up without stamping over the top.

The two flowers in the front have been ink blended with Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral and have been fussy cut out and mounted with Stampin' dimensionals. This just gives another interest with the layering.

Whisper White Organza ribbon has been used as it still allows the background to be seen and blends so nicely with the Whisper White cardstock. I then added Crushed Curry baker's twine just to pick up the yellows in the flowers. The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Basic Black cardstock and mounted with dimensionals.

To complete the card I have carried over the same theme on the inside and have used the coordinating sentiment.

The Garden In Bloom makes for a wonderful encouragement card and can also be used for many design applications and would look great as a floral background. Being photopolymer makes it a breeze to line up the images. I hope you have enjoyed this card and found inspiration. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Happy Crafting! :)

  8. WOW Juana, those colours bring to mind the tropics and warm, flower scented breezes + walking along the beach say somewhere like Fiji :) Adore how well the colours and layers come together for such a beautiful and sensory card, does it smell as good as it looks!. Of course the insides is as always just as gorgeous!
