Wild About Flowers - New Adventures

Happy Friday! Thank goodness it's Friday! Today I'm showing a custom made card for a customer order. It's a two in one card, marking two events - a retirement and a birthday for her friend. The finished card ended up looking like a mini book combining these two occasions.

The card is literally three card bases - an A2 side folding portrait, nested inside each other and held together by the Emerald Envy ribbon. You'll see by the photos as it's opened up.
The front base card panel is Emeral Envy and the inside inserts are Whisper White.

The sets I have used are Wild About Flowers - perfect for Retirement and Butterfly Basics and coordinating thinlits for the birthday. These two sets just compliment each other in the similar imagery of leaves and flowers.

Thank goodness also for this week's Pals Paper Arts PPA319 Colour challenge by Peggy Noe. The colours greatly helped get this card rolling and perfectly defined the leaves and flowers used from the sets.

Please be sure to check out the creative projects by the design team using this lovely colour palette and hopefully you'll be inspired to join in too. :)

The card front has been multi-stamped using the two flower varieties from Wild About Flowers. The first one is the carnation like flowers in Mint Macaron as it's the lightest of  the greens in the background.

The second foliage/flowers in Emerald Envy in the foreground. I then did an ink blending in both Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy to help add depth to the composition.

The corresponding flowers has been stamped in Flirty Flamingo for the carnation and decided to use Emerald Envy for the petals to help get that shading and fullness in the bottom layer.

The sentiments has been stamped in black Stazon ink, then applied versamark ink and clear heat embossed, to help give it that pop. The same was applied with the Flirty Flamingo inked flowers.

I have also added a small tag using the Tags and labels framelits and white heat embossed the sentiment, "You'll be missed" on top. This has then been tied on using a linen thread and attached to the Emerald Envy bow/ribbon.

The images and ink blending are kept in line to the Pals Paper Arts colour palette.

This is how the card looks opened out in order.

By adding these additional pages with enough white space also allows for the recipient's colleagues to sign inside. I hope you have enjoyed this project and found inspiration. If there's anything you would like to know please leave a comment below or send me a message. Thanks. :)

I have also entered this card in Kylie's Crazy Crafter's team project highlights
