International Blog Hop Highlighting Stampin' Up! Products

Welcome to our International Blog Hop. We are a group of demonstrators from around the world that want to show you ideas and inspiration using the latest Stampin' Up!® products that are available to purchase right now. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Juana Create or may have come from the person previous to me in the list.

If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Juana Ambida. The wonderful Kylie Bertucci, has organised this International blog hop for us and it's such an honour to take part.

You are currently visiting Australia - If you are from this area I would love to assist you with purchasing Stampin' Up!® products or if you need any help with the products.

I am excited to showcase the magical Fairy Celebration set which can be found on page 63 in the new annual catalogue. I was fortunate to have won this stamp set from Kylie, as a prize for winning and taking part in her Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights.

Here are the cards I have made using this fabulous set. I have chosen to do a magic card and a shadow box card, as this was be a great way to showcase this set with a magic theme. It's also my first time to make this kind of cards and it's a great learning experience to try something new.

I learnt to make this Shadow Box card from watching Jan Brown's Youtube tutorial. She is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator from the UK and it's thanks to her wonderful tutorial I was able to create this. It's quite easy once you get started and have a bit of practice.  You can click here to watch her tutorial on YouTube and it's extremely helpful.

The Shadow Box frame is created with Pool Party 12x12" cardstock. All measurements can be found on Jan Brown's video tutorial.  I have stamped the fairies with black Stazon ink on Whisper White cardstock. They have been coloured in with an Aqua Painter and have all been fussy cut and have used a craft knife for the tight spaces. The fairy on the toadstool has been propped up with a window sheet. Not only is this see through but gives a sturdy backing. The other two fairies on the frame have been mounted with Stampin' dimensionals.

The background has been ink blended using Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi and Emerald Envy inks. I have added the fairy dust from the set and have white heat embossed this on the background for some interest. The fairy dust continues on the frame with silver heat embossing trailing under the flying fairy.

The sentiments have been white heat embossed on vellum and have been die cut using the Bunch of Banners framelits and Project Life Cards and Labels framelits. I have also added a silver star from the Metallic Enamel Shapes embellishments pack. It serves as decoration as well as concealing the adhesive used to stick on the vellum banner.

I have also used the new Thoughtful Branches and Beautiful Branches thinlits with the leaves on the frame and the white heat embossed tree/flower in the back panel. It just goes so well with this set.

Here are more photos of the Shadow Box card...

The Magic card...

Here is the Fairy on the Toadstool - I just love this image.
To create the magic card you need to stamp the image on both cardstock and on a window sheet. It's important that they line up perfectly, so best to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig or a Misti tool.  I have watercoloured the fairy with an Aqua Painter using watercolour paper and have used black Stazon on ink for both.

Here is the second one...

I ended up making three to play and experiment hehe. I learnt to create this magic card from Dawn Griffith's  - Dawn Stamping Thoughts Youtube video tutorial.  I found her video very helpful to get started with making these cards.

I have used Pool Party and Mint Macaron cardstock and have used ink blending on the card front with the same coloured inks for shading/gradient finish. The middle one uses Bermuda Bay to give it more contrast and make the white heat embossed flowers pop even more.

I have also used the Wild About Flowers set as the images compliments the fairy on the toadstool touching the flower. The second card with the fairy hanging on the branch, I have used the Thoughtful Branches bundle and emulated the skirt leaves pattern of the fairy hehe.

The ribbons used  on the cards are:

• Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’S Twine - 138413
• Mint Macaron 3/8" (1cm) Sheer Linen Ribbon - 141656
• Pool Party 3/8" (1cm) Stitched Satin Ribbon - 141691

I have also used:

• Lots of Labels Framelits Dies - 138281
• Layering Circles Framelits Dies - 141705

Here are the cards showing the coloured version as you pull them up. Will need to post up a video of the cards in action soon, as you get a better picture when seen moving. :)

I hope you enjoyed the Fairy Celebration set and found inspiration. I can not recommend this set enough - such an endless scope for creativity. :)
