The best things in life are - Sweet Cupcake

Hello and welcome back! I'm so excited to share today's project as I have made an accessory for the first time with a card and that is, the Baker's Box! - it's just adorable don't you think?

It's a Party theme this week over at Global Design Project #GDP043 and have made these cards out of inspiration and of course to play with these wonderful sets!

My card layout has been inspired by Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #55 - A Sketch from Sandy.
What a great sketch it is, and greatly helped with my card development.

Yay! My card was picked as one of the winners for SIP#55. :)

Please take a look at the creative projects from both card challenges and hopefully you'll be inspired to take part. :)

Here is my card as inspired from both of the challenges.

The card has been designed based on the sketch challenge with the party theme.  I've been having so much fun making shaker cards lately and was perfect to do again for both the challenges. Making a shaker card window just jazzes up a card and adds a creative element - the sequins just says ready to party!

Every party needs something sweet right? and the cupcake always comes to mind. I have used the new Sweet Cupcake bundle and the matching dies are just sweet, excuse the pun - makes it so much easier and fun to use. I especially love the sentiment, "The best things in life are - Sweet". How sweet it is, that it comes in a thinlits die hehe, that you can coordinate with the stamped sentiment as I have done.

I have taken this sentiment and made it a design feature to go along the side of the card and is in keeping with the Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge. 'Sweet', is an additional sentiment from the set and has been highlighted in Daffodil Delight. Just love the graphic look it creates.

The Sweet Cupcake set is a three step stamping, where you build up the images and being photolymer, makes it much easier to line up the images. I have started from the lightest to darkest of the same shade for the cupcake.

For the frosting on the cupcake I have used: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo.

The base of the cupcake: So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.

It might be hard to see but I have gone over the cupcake with clear wink of Stella for shimmer and added three small pearls to complete the look hehe.

The pennant banners in the background are from the Celebrate Today set and I have clear heat embossed this using Versamark ink and gives a vibrant tone on tone look when clear heat embossed.
I have used Calypso Coral for both the cardstock and sentiment and just love this colour.

The patterned paper inside the shaker window is taken from "A Little Foxy" designer series paper stack and has a fun confetti design that suits the shaker element.

Inside the card, I have personalised it using some of the elements from the front. The sentiment has been white heat embossed on a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock and acts both as design element and a stylised candle on top of the cupcake and leads your eye to the cupcake. It's almost good enough to eat hehe. The clear wink of Stella is more noticeable on this photo.

Last but not least is the gorgeous box using the Baker's Box thinlits dies. It's fun to use and easy to assemble. Makes the perfect gift packaging to put chocolates or confectionery or even a cupcake hehe. that you can personalise. I have used A Little Foxy designer series paper stack and is just the perfect precut size for this thinlit. It also ties in with my card and Calypso Coral is the coordinating colour that ties both projects.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and box projects and found inspiration. The sets I have used are a delight and are perfect to accessorise a party event with a handmade touch, that makes it even more special. I have listed the supplies below if you would like to create or do something similar. By purchasing the Sweet Cupcake as a bundle you save 10%.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Cheers! :)
