Artistically Asian

Hello and Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week. My box of goodies arrived this week and I'm excited to share and showcase these new creations featuring the new Artistically Asian set together with the Vertical Greetings set. After seeing so many gorgeous cards using this set, I just had to have a play. I especially love Asian art and was just perfect.  It's such an awesome set with so many creative possibilities.

Both these sets couldn't have arrived at a better time as it was perfect to use in this week's Global Design Project #45 - Colour Challenge. It's also a special colour challenge, that if your card is selected you become a guest designer for the following colour challenge. Sounds like fun! Be sure to take a look at the creative galleries and would be great if you joined in too. So many great inspirations from the design team.

Fortunately, no one has used this set as of yet to enter in the challenge. So glad to be the first one in the gallery to show this hehe.  I have made four cards to show the diversity of what can be created using the fabulous colour challenge. Pairing this set with Vertical Greetings is just complimentary with having the same vertical alignment of the sentiment and 'Thank You' is the most appropriate one to pair up with "Friendship" Japanese kanji character.

I have used the Friendship symbol or Japanese Kanji character in the set and have paired this with the corresponding sentiments "Friendship multiplies joy and divides sorrows". Thank You seemed to be the most appropriate sentiment to go with this character and fitted in nicely.

Here is the meaning of each symbol that are in the set:

The following cards have all been inspired by Asian art Chinese/Japanese style using the Bamboo depicting silk screen painting. A combination of A2 top folding and side folding portrait.

For the card below, I have used ink blending for the background and masking to create the sun. The circle is die cut from the new Layering Circles dies - the second smallest circle in the set, using post it notes.

The Thank You has been white heat embossed and that is from Vertical Greetings. I just love the way it's positioned and is in keeping with the Asian calligraphy, "Friendship/Thank You" characters.

I have also used the Labeler Alphabet for "J" to depict the stamp or signature of the artist that you see on Asian Art paintings. I have gold heat embossed this too just to make it look authentic hehe.

The card base has tone on tone stamping of the bamboo with Smoky Slate. The inside of the card uses the same elements. It's all one layer too using ink blending and masking with Post it notes.

This card has ink blending for a pop of colour with a white heat embossed image of the plant and sentiment.

This card has an acetate window panel for interest and allows you to see inside the card.

I hope you have enjoyed these new creations and have been inspired. The creativity is endless with both sets. I have also entered these cards in tonight's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights. Please take a look at the creative projects and vote for your favourites. :)

Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend. Happy Crafting! :)
